PINNAPLASTY (EAR RESHAPING SURGERY)

Pinnaplasty, also called otoplasty, corrects prominent or asymmetrical ears by reshaping cartilage and positioning the ears closer to the head. It improves facial harmony and can significantly boost confidence.

Technique:

A curved incision is made behind each ear. Through this, the cartilage is reshaped by scoring or using permanent sutures to set the ear in a natural position. If needed, a small wedge of cartilage is removed. Dissolvable or removable sutures are used. No hair is shaved, and scarring is hidden behind the ear.

What to Expect

Consultation – Ear angles and facial symmetry are assessed. We discuss your goals and examine cartilage strength and shape.
Pre-Procedure – You may be asked to stop certain medications. No special skin prep is needed.
Surgery Day – Typically lasts 1–1.5 hours under local anaesthetic. A headband is applied immediately after.
Recovery – Headband worn for 5–7 days full-time, then at night for 4 weeks. Swelling resolves in 7–10 days.
